"Over 170,000 miles a year on our Lance and still goin' strong!"

Champion roper Bill Huber, and his family, travel 170,000 rodeo miles a year in their Lance Camper. That amounts to a lot of long days and a lot of nights, too. With the versatility and convenience of a Lance Camper, he has his home away from home wherever he goes. His wife, his two boys, his horses, a familiar bed and the luxury of home cooking. It's all right there. And if you think that doesn't make his hard-hitting profession a lot easier, just ask.

"I perform much better. I have everything I need. Our Lance has worked flawlessly for 300 rodeos, 600 nights and 170,000 miles."

Quality...best-built...features

We checked out other RVs and still found Lance to have the highest quality construction and to be the best built – and it had the most features we liked and needed. Good layout...really well-designed.

Versatility...#1 for over 40 years

Believe me, we looked. For over two years we did the research on RVs – fifth-wheels, motorhomes, toy-haulers and campers. What we found was a truck camper is the most versatile for our needs, and that Lance is the #1 brand in campers, and has been so for decades. That’s why we went with a Lance, and we couldn’t be happier. Thanks!

Maneuver...go anywhere

Backing up is easy. I can stop anywhere for lunch and just pull into a regular parking spot. And since my Lance has about the same footprint as my truck, I can go anywhere I want. Beaches, backroads...even snow areas...are more accessible than with any other RV.

The right size of RV

I could never see hauling a huge RV, trailer or fifth-wheel around the country. This is camping! If I need that much room, I might as well stay home!

Economy...lower costs

Investigating the real overall price of a motorhome (fuel, storage, registration, engine and transmission repairs, tires, insurance and depreciation) vs. the versatility, utility and economy of a Lance on our 4WD diesel truck...our choice was obvious. Lance just made sense.

Tow all your toys

We use our truck during the week for work and errands around town, and use our Lance to go out camping weekends – pulling the boat or our other toys in the trailer – so it’s the best choice for us.

Best floor plans

We looked at most all campers for over a year – including other states – and Lance had the best floor plans. The bathroom was a big factor in our decision. We moved from a 40-foot bus to a Lance Max 1181 and we’re not sorry at all.

Easy to use...load/unload

Admittedly, the Lance is not as big as a pull-along trailer – but, it is easy to pack – easy to load and unload off your truck – easy to drive in the wind – and easy to set up. If I need my truck to go somewhere, in minutes I’m ready. It’s just easy!

Satisfied, repeat owners

In 1998 we bought a Lance Squire 3000 and used it until March 2005 when we traded it in for a new Lance Max 1181. (We wanted a larger camper for more extensive camping.) I really hated trading in our Squire 3000 because it had served us so well and had nothing wrong with it. But our new 1181 works great too!

855's maiden voyage

Here's a brief first report from the 855's maiden voyage. After years of thinking and planning and saving... it has all come together. The truck handled the camper flawlessly. The camper itself worked flawlessly. We took it for its maiden voyage where no cabover was meant to go... or maybe exactly where it was meant to go. We creeped 4wheel drive granny low down an old logging road into the Mill Creek Gorge. Not another soul for miles. Crackling fire, a glass of wine, a little soft music and the cleansing of the soul made for some happy campers. Thanks for all your help putting this package together. I must admit that I had many doubts but so far, so good. I think you have a good team working with you. I'm sure that I tested all of you. No doubt there will be more glowing reports to follow.

Covered Wagon

I thought I would give you another 855 update. I've enjoyed several excursions since the maiden voyage; Davis Lake, Bucks Lake, and places of such. However, my last adventure was rather unusual, most delightful, and honestly pushed the limits of my outdoor skills as well as Chevy and Lance engineering. I promised my wife a relaxing and peaceful camp out at a secret little lake that I've camped at many times before. Truly, a marvelous place, so we'll keep it unnamed. I bragged what a wonderful place that we were headed to for the two hours it took to get there. Upon arriving, to my total surprise, some water manager had pulled the plug on the dam leaving the lake bone dry. Oh what to do now??? As a direct descendant of the Donner Party, I headed for nearby pioneer country. I locked up the Chevy's hubs, chain sawed small trees out of the way, and took my covered wagon to camp in a historical spot in the high California desert. I'm quite sure that no one has camped here in a hundred years. The stars were magnificent. The International Space Station fly-over was most impressive. Around the fire during a mid-summer night, a temperature of 29 degrees signaled the approach of fall. I enjoyed a terrific meal as the furnace cycled keeping my covered wagon toasty warm.

Just thought that I would send you a report of just how versatile this camper is and how surprising well it handles. I think that I will stop pushing its limits and try the Redwoods or coast in the near future. It honestly is making life good and my adventures fun with the utmost comfort. I recommend truck camping to anyone who might be so inclined.

In the last 19 years we have been proud owners of 3 Lance Campers

We would like to thank both Lance and Lance dealer Mike Ferguson Recreation for standing behind your product. Both Mike Ferguson Recreation in Paradise, Ca. and Lance Manufacturing in Lancaster, Ca. "Lance RV Parts and Service Department" and the crew where just great. We will always champion Lance products to family, friends and neighbors.
In the last 19 years we have been proud owners of 3 Lance Campers. From 2000 to 2007 we had a motor home for which we found we were not very happy as we were with our campers. Mike Ferguson helped us sell our motor home and we purchased the 951 camper and have never looked back. We love the freedom and ease of driving the campers. With the new slide outs it gives us plenty of room even with our two small dogs. Thank you again, for fixing our camper under warranty.
